Born: Osaka, Japan
The Japanese soprano, Yoshie Hida, was and graduated from Kobe College and then, with a masters degree, from the Kyoto City University of Arts. She won first prize at the Concours de Musique de la Société Musicale France Japonaise du Kansai in 1990.
Besides having a special interest in French music which has led to numerous celebrated performances as a recitalist and in opera, Yoshie Hida is also a noted performer of Baroque music and has sung regularly with the Bach Collegium Japan since 1991.
