Aria [Soprano]

Oboe d'amore, Violoncello piccolo, Continuo

Ich bin herrlich, ich bin schön,
I am glorious, I am beautiful,
Meinen Heiland zu entzünden.
to kindle my saviour's love.
Seines Heils Gerechtigkeit
The justice of his salvation
Ist mein Schmuck und Ehrenkleid;
is my adornment and robe of honour;
Und damit will ich bestehn,
and with these I shall pass the test
Wenn ich werd im Himmel gehn.
when I shall go to heaven.

Wie wohl ist mir!
What good fortune is mine!

Die Majestät ruft selbst und sendet ihre Knechte,
his Majesty himself calls and sends out his servants
Dass das gefallene Geschlechte
so that the fallen race
Im Himmelssaal
in the halls of heaven
Bei dem Erlösungsmahl
at the meal of redemption
Zu Gaste möge sein,
may be his guests,
Hier komm ich, Jesu, lass mich ein!
Here I can come, Jesus!

Aria [Bass - Jesus] and Chorale (Soprano - Soul]

Oboe d'amore e Violino I all' unisono, Violino II, Viola, Organo obligato, Continuo

Dich hab ich je und je geliebet,
For ever and ever I have loved you,

Wie bin ich doch so herzlich froh,
what heartfelt joy is mine,
Dass mein Schatz ist das A und O,
that my treasure is the alpha and omega,
Der Anfang und das Ende.
the beginning annd the end.

Und darum zieh ich dich zu mir.
And therefore I draw you towards me.

Er wird mich doch zu seinem Preis
For his praise he will therefore
Aufnehmen in das Paradeis;
take me up into his paradise;
Des klopf ich in die Hände.
At which I clap my hands.

Ich komme bald,
I come soon.

Amen! Amen!
Amen! Amen!

Ich stehe vor der Tür,
I stand before the door,

Komm, du schöne Freudenkrone, bleib nicht lange!
Come, you beautiful crown of joy, do not delay for long!

Mach auf, mein Aufenthalt!
Open up the place where I shall stay!

Deiner wart ich mit Verlangen.
I wait for you with longing.

Dich hab ich je und je geliebet,
For ever and ever I have loved you
Und darum zieh ich dich zu mir.
And therefore I am drawn to you.
