The Dutch baritone, Matthijs Mesdag, began his singing studies with Hein Meens at the Conservatorium of Maastricht. He continued his studies with Margreet Honig at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam, where he graduated in 1989. Between 1991 and 1993 he took courses at the 'Britten-Pears school for advanced musical studies' in Aldeburgh (UK) with Diane Forlano, Sarah Walker and Anthony Rolfe-Johnson. Master-classes followed with René Jacobs, Bernard Kruysen, Jard van Nes, Udo Reinemann, Sarah Walker and Evelyn Lear. Currently he takes lessons by David Pittman-Jennings in Paris Brian Masuda. |
