Henriette Feith (Soprano)

Born: The Netherlands

The Dutch soprano, Henriette [Henriëtte] Feith, studied at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam with Cora Canne Meijer.

Henriette Feithis mainly active as a soloist in oratorio, Baroque and chamber music. Upon finishing her studies, she formed a duo with pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren with whom she gives regularly Lieder recitals, including for the Vrienden van het Lied (Association of Friends of the Lied). Their CD "Curiosity Killed" is dedicated to the modern American song. They performed in a series at the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Frits Philips Music Centre in Eindhoven, Vereeniging in Nijmegen and Institut Néerlandais in Paris. As a duo they received lessons with Rudolf Jansen and Graham Johnson.

In 2005 Henriette Feith sang as a soloist at the wedding of Prince Pieter-Christiaan and Anita van Eijk which was broadcast live by the NOS. Her affinity with the early music is also apparent from the recitals that she gives with lutenist David van Ooijen. They have a CD released in the spring of 2012, "La Cecchina", in which a selection of songs from Il Primo Libro delle Musiche (1618) by Francesca Caccini is included. The Telegraph (October 13, 2012 ) discussed the CD under the title: "Sympathetic beauty" and also "Beautiful repertoire, performed with an equally wonderful and personal voice.. "

At the Holland Opera Henriette Feith sang in June 2012, the role of third lady in the production Dido Ile Aeneas , an adaptation of the opera by Henry Purcell. With jazz pianist Thijs Breasts, his ensemble and the Senegalese singer Mola Syla she performed in the 2012-2013 season in the series “De Uitdaging” (The Challenge). With the actor Felix Jan Kuypers and the lutenist David van Ooijen she plays and sings this season in the show “Twee werelden bewoon ik” (Two worlds I inhabited), an unsuspected connection between Francesca Caccini and Constantijn Huygens, directed by Noor Braat.

Henriette Feith sings regularly in the Amsterdam Baroque Choir, Groot Omroepkoor (Netherlands Radio Choir) and Nederlands Kamerkoor. With the latter ensemble she sang at the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. She currenly lives in Amersfoort.
