The German contralto, Susanne Langner, enjoyed an early musical training through her involvement in the Gewandhaus-Kinderchor in Leipzig and the Rundfunk-Jugendchor Wernigerode. Since 1998 she studied singing at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with KS Professor Elisabeth Wilke and graduated with diploma with honours. Meanwhile, she is an ensemble member of the RIAS-Kammerchor in Berlin.
Susanne Langner made her debut in 1998 as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro. Then she performed in numerous opera productions, such as in Idomeneo at the Salzburg Festival. In 2004 she won the Audience Award and Special Prize of the Leipziger Barockorchester at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig. In addition, she was a finalist at several international competitions. Concert engagements have taken her in Germany and abroad, including appearances with the Mozarteum-Orchester under Dennis Russell Davies, the Leipziger Barockorchester under David Timm and the Deutschen Sinfonieorchester under Peter Rundel.
Susanne Langner has a wide repertoire from Baroque to modern, with the emphasis of her activities is currently in the oratorio area. |
