The Italian violinist and conductor, Georg [George] Egger, studied with Professor Giannino Carpi at the “C. Monteverdi” Conservatory. He passed his concert diploma in Düsseldorf studying under Sándor Végh and attened a variety of master-classes with such noteworthy musicians as Professors Odnoposoff, Schneiderhan and Szeryng.
From 1974 to 1986 Georg Egge was concert-master at the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn. In addition, he has made several soloist appearances throughout Europe, Russia, Japan, Canada and the USA. Chamber music collaboration connects him with artists such as Maurice Andre, Eduard Brunner, Heinz Holliger, Edith Mathis, Sabine and Wolfgang Meyer, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Tabea Zimmermann and others.
Georg Egger is concert-master of the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart under Helmuth Rilling. With the latter he took part in the recording of all of J.S. Bach's works by Hänssler, with the CD "Werke für Violine und Basso continuo" released in 2000 being particularly noteworthy. He is concert-master of the Klassischer Philharmonie Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius) and a member of the Cappella Andrea Barca (Director: András Schiff). Since 1987, he has been director of the Accademia d'Archi Bolzano = Streicherakademie Bozen.
Since 1985, Georg Egger has been Professor at the “C. Monteverdi” Conservatory where he studied and guest lecturer at the international Bach academy organised by Helmuth Rilling. |
