The German contralto, Susanne Krumbiegel, was born into a a musical family. After the exams at the Spezialschule für Musik Leipzig-Markkleeberg, she studied school music and singing at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt“ in Weimar.

Since 1989 Susanne Krumbiegel sings successfully all over Germany in concerts and Lieder recitals. She has sung under important condutors, such as Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller, Kreuzkantor Roderich Kreile, Helmuth Rilling, Frieder Bernius and Ton Koopman. With the organist Matthias Eisenberg, the speaker Gert Westphal and the pianist Peter Stamm she appeared in literary-musical programmes.

Susanne Krumbiegel has appeared as a guest at the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Musiktagen Hitzacker, the Musikfestspielen Potsdam, the Leipziger Bachfest, the Schwetzinger Festspielen, the Herbstlichen Musiktagen Bad Urach, the Sächsisch-Böhmischen Musikfestival, the Barockfest Würzburg, the MDR-Musiksommer Musikfest and the Sächsisch-Böhmischen Musikfest. Guest concerts led her to Japan, Poland, Russia, Holland, Austria, Spain, Italy and France.

Numerous CD, broadcast and television productions, for MDR, Deutschland Radio, 3Sat, SWR, NDR and Arte document her artistic work.
