Marleene Goldstein (Contralto, Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Holland

The Dutch contralto and mezzo-soprano, Marleene Goldstein, studied with Peter Kooy and Lucia Meeuwsen at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. During her singing studies she co-operated as a soloist in music theatre productions and oratorio concerts, but after course of time she already proved her ability as an ensemble singer. She gained her diploma in 1997.

After graduating Marleene Goldstein got a job in the Groot Omroepkoor (the big broadcasting choir). In 2001, she became a member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor. At the same time she accepted the alto role in the Quink Vocaal Ensemble. Beside these permanent engagements, she sings on a free-lance basis with other professional ensembles such as the Amsterdam Baroque Choir under the direction of Ton Koopman and Cappella Figuralis under the direction of Jos van Veldhoven. She is regularly invited as a soloist in several oratorios.
