Zuerne nur, du alte Schlange,
zische, schaeume, kruemme dich!
Schau! Dein blutigs Sersensstechen
muss dir selbst den Stachel brechen,
Jesus tritt dich unter sich.

 

2. Rezitativ

 

So singt der glaeubigen vergnuegte Schar,
die, wegen ihres Jesu Not, sonst voller Kummer war.
Itzt preiset sie die frohen Stunden,
darin nun auch der letzte Feind, der Tod,
von unserm Lebensfuersten ueberwunden.
Da dies, o mensch, dein Herz betracht
und diesen grossen Sieg so freudenswuerdig achtet,
so lass auch doch, vor allen
recht grossen Dank dafuer est wiederschallen.

 

3. Arie

 

Singt nicht dein Herz Halleluja? Ja!
Dringt noch des Todes Furcht hinein? Nein!
Mein Herz frohlocket, lobet, singet!
Da Jesus Sieg und Beute bringet!
Nun ist der Segen vielfach mein.
