Johann Heinrich Bach [43] (Organ, Kantor, Copyist, Bach's Pupil)

Born: August 4, 1707 - Ohrdruf, Thuringia, Germany
Died: May 20, 1783 - Öhringen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Johann Heinrich Bach [43] was son of Johann Christoph Bach [22] (organist in Ohrdruf, brother of J.S. Bach [24]). In 1713-1724 he attended the Lyceum in Ohrdruf. He was a pupil of J.S. Bach [24] and one of his principal copyists (formerly known as 'Hauptkopist C') at the Leipzig Thomasschule in 1724-1728. From 1728 to 1735, he probably stayed in Ohrdruf; in 1735 was appointed Kantor and organist at Öhringen.

J.S. Bach frequently commissioned his nephew Johann Heinrich Bach to produce performance material (principal copyist C) during his time at the Thomasschule. In return, he probably also gave him private lessons.
