Lisa Rothländer (Soprano)

Born: Schweinfurt (Ottendorf), Bavaria, Germany

The German soprano, Lisa Rothländer, studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in München music education for the high school with a major in organ with Professor Martha Schuster and the main subject singing with Professor Henriette Meyer-Ravenstein. After graduating with her first state examination in 2008, she studied with Professor Heidrun Kordes opera singing and since 2011 with Professor Ursula Targler-Sell at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, where she graduated with a diploma in 2012. She attended various master-classes with Beata Heuer, Helmut Deutsch and Johannes Martin Kränzle, and a master-class for Italian music of the 17th century in Montepulciano. She is a scholasrship holder of the Artemusica Stiftung der Sparkasse Frankfurt.

In the 2012-2013 season and 2013 Lisa Rothländer was engaged at the Theater Wiesbaden as a guest. In summer 2013, she performed the role of Blonden in W.A. Mozart's Entführung aus dem Serail at the Bad Hersfelder Opernfestspielen and won the Opera Award. Since the 2013-2014 season she is a permanent member of MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig.

The lyric coloratura soprano is in demand both in early music, in the standard operatic repertoire, as well as in modern music. She participated in several world premieres, such as Lieder NGC 3372 by Belma Beslic-Gal with HR live recording and at the scenic project Mond.Finsternis.Asphalt at the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt. Other opera engagements have taken her to the Weilburger Schlosskonzerten as Amor (Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, 2012), as Momus (J.S. Bach's Streit zwischen Phoebus und Pan, BWV 201, 2011), to Kloster Eberbach as Aloysia Weber (W.A. Mozart's Ein Faschingsscherz in Wien, 2012) and Karlsruher Händelfestspielen.

In several CD recordings and in concerts Lisa Rothländer sang with conductors such as Daniel Harding, Frieder Bernius, Kristian Järvi, Ralf Otto, David Timm, Risto Joost, Tobias Volkmann and Georg Christoph Biller and with renowned ensembles such as the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum Leipzig, Bayerischen Kammerorchester, Mainzer Kammerorchester or Barockorchester L'Arpa Festante München. She currently lives in Leipzig, Germany.
