Carmen Buchert (Soprano)

Born: 1992 - Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg Germany

The German soprano, Carmen Buchert, discovered her love of music very early in the choir and while learning the instruments flute, piano and organ. She initially studied at Evang. Church music at Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Heidelberg (2012-2016; including singing with Heidrun Luchterhandt, choir conducting with KMD Professor Bernd Stegmann, organ (improvisation) with Stefan Viegelahn and Professor Dr. Gerhad Luchterhandt); and then devoted herself to studying singing with Professor Holger Speck at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe (2015-2022), which she completed with top grades. Master-classes with KMD Dorothea Röschmann, Gerd Türk, Daniel Fueter and Liv Solveig Wagner, among others, as well as concert tours expand her training. She was successful at the national level at "Jugendmusiziert" in 2012 and is 1st prize winner of the Inge-Pittler-Wettbewerbes für das Fach Gesang.

Carmen Buchert has already worked with well-known conductors and orchestras such as Simon Halsey, Yuval Weinberg, Marcus Creed, Michael Alexander Willens, Barockorchester L'arpa festante, Karlsruher Barockorchester, Freiburger Barockorchester and Ensemble Resonanz.

As a soprano, Carmen Buchert's her focus is on the oratorio. In addition to great oratorios, passions and cantatas by a wide range of composers, their repertoire also includes lesser-known works from the Renaissance and early Baroque. She also devotes herself to ensemble singing; In the 2021-2022 season she was active as an intern in the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart (Director: Yuval Weinberg), where she continues to sing as a freelancer. She also sings regularly in the renowned Vocalensemble Rastatt (Director: Holger Speck), Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius) and other ensembles.

In 2022 Carmen Buchert founded the Karlsruher Vokaloktett with other graduates from the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe. She also works as choir director of the Stadtkirchenchors Durlach and the Gemeindechors Heidelberg-Kirchheim, as a voice trainer and singing teacher.
