The American tenor, Jon Humphrey, made his debut with the Cleveland Orchestra while an undergraduate at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory and continued with the Orchestra for the next six seasons.
Those early successes led to engagements with major orchestras including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, St. Luke's, San Francisco and Seattle. Jon Humphrey's extensive list of Bach performances include the Bethlehem Bach Festival, Ann Arbor Chamber Singers and New York Pro Musica. In the field of contemporary music, he has premiered works by John Harbison, Conrad Susa, John Duke.
Jon Humphrey teaches at the University of Massachusetts, where he has been awarded the Philip Bezanson professorship. A regular performer at the Marlboro Music Festival, Jon Humphrey has sung Bach with Blanche Moyse and the New England Bach Festival since 1973.
