Christoph Dittmar (Counter-tenor, Harpsichord)

Born: Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

The German counter-tenor and hasrpsichordist, Christoph Dittmar, studied harpsichord in Weimar with Bernhard Klapprott and singing with Gundula Anders.

Christoph Dittmar performs as a soloist and ensemble singer with ensembles such as Bell'arte Salzburg (Director: Annegret Siedel), Les Amies de Philippe, Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble, Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius) or the Schola Stralsundensis; with ensemble directors such as Annegret Siedel, Ludger Rémy, Arno Paduch, Frieder Bernius, Maurice van Lieshout, Manfred Cordes and Wolfgang Helbich. Since 2002, he has been directing Cantus Thuringia & Capella Thuringia together with Bernhard Klapprott. He is also a member of Chorus Musicus Köln (Director: Christoph Spering).

Christoph Dittmar has appeared at at the Internationalen Händel-Festspielen Göttingen, Telemann-Sonntagsmusiken in Magdeburg, Haller Bach-Tage Musica Sacra Masstricht, Internationalen Händel-Festspielen Halle and Tagen Alter Musik in Herne; and participated in radio and CD productions as well as ZDF and MDR television productions.

Since 2013, Christoph Dittmar has been teaching piano accompaniment and harpsichord at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. He currently lives in Berlin, Germany
