Bremen Baroque Orchestra (Baroque Orchestra)
Founded: 1990 - Bremen, Germany
The Bremen Baroque Orchestra (Barockorchester Bremen), founded in 1990 on the initiative of Thomas Albert, draws on a membership comsisting mostly of graduates of the Academy of Early Music in Bremen. One of the leading German Baroque orchestras, it has achieved a high measure of renown with its numerous concerts, radio broadcasts, and CD productions. Its repertoire includes classics of the 17th century (Corelli, Vivaldi) as well as orchestral music by J.S. Bach, Händel, and Telemann.
