Thomas Albert (Conductor, Violin)

Born: 1953 - Bremen, Germany

The German conductor and violinist, Thomas Albert, studied violin. In 1978 he founded the ensemble Fiori Musicali, Bremen and in 1986 the Akademie für Alte Musik was the first training institute for early music in the German higher education. In 1989, he was appointed Professor for Baroque violin at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, and the same year he founded the Musikfest Bremen, which he has continuously directed since.

Comment: There is also another Thomas Albert (b 1948 - Lebanon, Pennsylvania, USA), an American composer and educator.
