Konstanze Beyer (Conductor, Violin)
Born: Germany
The German conductor and violinist, Konstanze Beyer, studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig violin and violin teaching with Professor Gerhard Bosse.
Since her study days she has specialised in playing the Baroque violin. She has suitable playing techniques, theoretical knowledge as well as aesthetic standards for the interpretation of music of 16th-18th centuries. She is a sought-after Baroque violinist, and has worked with numerous ensembles, and has appeared as a soloist with these ensembles all over Europe. From 1986 to 1990 she was member of the Capella Fidicinia Leipzig under the direction of Hans Grüß. Since 1995 she was concert-master of her own-created Leipziger Barockorchester, whose artistic directing she took over in 1998. Since 2003 she is first violinist of the Heinrich-Schütz-Collegium Leipzig. As counter-weight to her speciality in early music, she is very active with contemporary and experimental music.
Konstanze Beyer has participated in numerous productions for broadcast, CD TV.
