The Greek soprano, Fanie Antonelou, began to learn singing, piano and music theory at an early age. In 2000 she received her degree in singing, and in 2004 - in piano, both with distinction. Along with classical lessons she has also studied Early and Byzantine music. She went on to study singing with Professor Dunja Vejzovic and piano with Professor Cornelis Witthoefft at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. She has actively participated in master-classes with Helmuth Rilling, Ileana Cotrubas, P. Montarsolo, R. Carson.
As a soloist Fanie Antonelou appeared in numerous concerts and opera productions in Greece and abroad. In March 2005 she won the Grand Prix in the category Oratorio-Lied at the Maria Callas Grand Prix competition in Athens. In the same year she played Ernestina in Rossini’s opera L’Occasione fa il ladro at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad. |
