Stephanie Petitlaurent (Soprano)

Born: Berlin, Germany

The German soprano, Stephanie Petitlaurent, received singing lessons with Christa-Sylvia Gröschke in Berlin and with Karl-Heinz Jarius in Frankfurt. In 1990 she won the 1st Prize at the Berlin State Competition of the National Singing Competition VDMK.

Since August 1991, Stephanie Petitlaurent is a permanent member of the RIAS-Kammerchor in Berlin. Many solo activities with the RIAS-Kammerchor have led her throughout Europe. She has sung with many famous orchestras, especially in Berlin, including the Berliner Symphoniker, the Akademie of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Further engagements have led her to Bremen and Freiburg, where she appeared with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Freiburger Barockorchester.

Stephanie Petitlaurent's particular fondness is for Lieder singing and she organised and presented Lieder recitals with the pianists Philip Mayers and Philip Moll. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque through Classical and Romantic to the Modern.
