Christian Mücke (Tenor)

Born: Königsberg in Unterfranken, Germany

The German tenor, Christian Mücke, was for four years a member of the Windsbacher Knabenchor. Only after finishing his German studies, he returned to classical music as a pupil of Irene Österling und Jutta Schlegel. He also participated in master-classes with Jutta Schlegel, Kurt Widmer and Harry van der Kamp.

Since 1994 Christian Mücke is a member of the RIAS Kammerchor. As a soloist he is particularly in demand in the area of early music. He has co-operated among others with Nigel North, the Berlin’s Lautten-Compagney, the Musica Alta Ripa, Berlin Baroque, the Berliner Bach Gesellschaft and the Dresdner Kammerchor.

Beyond that Christian Mücke has participated in several opera productions (e.g. in 1997 Aufenthalt" by Olga Neuwirth in Podewil with the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin) and is a member Ars Nova ensembles. As a Bach interpreter he was on concert tours to Italy, France and Poland.
