Jeffrey Ledwidge (Bass)

Born: Dublin, Ireland

The Irish bass, Jeffrey Ledwidge, began singing with the National Chamber Choir of Ireland in 1994 whilst completing his musical studies.

Jeffrey Ledwidge's solo career has seen him perform many of the major oratorio works both in Ireland and abroad. He has worked extensively with many of the major Irish choral groups and orchestral ensembles. His career has also seen him travel to countries such as Brazil, China, USA and Lebanon. Recent engagements include J.S. Bach's Matthäus Passion (BWV 244), Johannes Passion (BWV 245) and Mass in B minor (BWV 232), Haydn’s Creation, L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Puccini's Messa di Gloria, and Penderecki’s Agnus Dei with Chamber Choir Ireland in Wroclaw, Poland .Also performances of twenty two of J.S. Bach's Church Cantatas with the Orchestra of St Cecilia. He took part in a George Frideric Handel birthday celebration performance of the Messiah in Halle, Germany in February 2014.
