Tobias Knaus (Counter-tenor)

Born: 1981 - Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German counter-tenor, Tobias Knaus, joined the Freiburger Domsingknaben at the age of 8. During his 15-year-old singerhood, first as a soprano later then as a baritone, he received classical vocal training and contributed to numerous concerts, CD recordings and concert tours around the world.

After graduation, Tobias Knaus first studied political science and English studies and continued singing as a second mainstay. In 2006, he began training to the counter-tenor with Richard Levitt in Basel. Since then he has been soloist as well as in various ensembles for projects in Germany and abroad as well as numerous CD recordings and has been operating since the completion of his singing studies. He is a member of Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart (Directors: Helmuth Rilling & Hans-Christoph Rademann).
