Boston-based tenor William Hite's warm tone and vivid portrayals have garnered critical acclaim all over North America with groups like the American Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Bach Consort, the New York City Ballet, the Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Tafelmusik and Philharmonia Baroque. Among his engagements for the 2000-2001 season is the North American premiere of Telemann's oratorio Der Tag des Gerichts in Baltimore.
He has recorded for Denon, Erato, New Albion, Titanic, BMG, and Centaur. William Hite is a valued interpreter of the songs of Schumann, Brahms, and Schubert. His recent performance of Winterreise in Boston was greeted with great enthusiasm and rare praise.
William Hite teaches voice at Boston University.
