Norman Farrow (Bass-Baritone)

The Canadian bass-baritone, Norman Farrow, was a member of Bach Aria Group from its inception in 1946 to 1980. He was the bass soloist in a performance of Hadyn's The Creation in the Spring of 1957 in London, Ontario (Canada), with the soprano Angela Angelini and the tenor Alan Crofoot. He sang The Passion According to St.Paul by George Frideric Handel under the baton of Hugh Ross in March 1959 at Carnegie Hall in New York, and the bass parts in J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) and Magnificat (BWV 243) under the baton of Leonard Bernstein in December 1959 also at Carnegie Hall.

Norman Farrow taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Among his pupils were Phil Stovall (bass-baritone), Wilson Jeffreys, and Daniel Scott (bass).
