[1] Evolutio (a realization of the former which, however is not a canon, but repeatable double counterpoint - this is the only realization in this set written out by Bach). An additional, unnumbered "Evolutio" is added by Bach for a non-canonic solution of number 10.
[2] Date: the clean copy is from 1747/1748 (Kobayashi-handwriting analysis) but Bach may have begun working on them as early as 1741/1742 if there ever was a working copy.
