Milan Zelenka (Guitar, Arranger)

Born: June 4, 1939 - Czechoslovakia

The Czech guitarist, Milan Zelenka, is a graduate of the Prague Conservatory. Even as a student he won the first prizes at international competitions in Moscow (1957) and Vienna (1959).

Since that time Milan Zelenka has had his successful career as an excellent concert guitarist. He has appeared regularly in Czechoslovakia and many other countries of three continents, has performed at outstanding world festivals and has given master guitar courses in France, Cuba, the FRG, Holland, Sweden, Denmark and Hungary. He ranks among the leading and universally active representatives of Czech guitar playing. In his concerts he also propagates original Czech modern works, and numerous original compositions came into being as his incentive.

Between 1963 and 1981, Milan Zelenka was also Professor at the Prague Conservatory. Apart from his extensive concert activity, and his meritorious pedagogical work, his systematic activity as an editor and lector are also worthy of mention.
