The Swedish choral conductor, Maria Wieslander, studied music education at the Uppsala University, church music at the Kungliga Musikhögskolan, and conducting at the Musikkonservatoriet in Copenhagen.
Maria Wieslander has worked for 20 years at the Drottningholm Slottsteater as repetitor and harpsichordist. She also worked at the Sveriges Radio as repetitor and conducted the Schwedischer Rundfunkchor. She has conducted various Swedish orchestras, such as the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Symfoniorkester and Drottningholm Barockensemble. She performed theatre music in Ingmar Bergman's dramas. As a chorus master she has co-operated with conductors as Riccardo Muti, Carlo Maria Giulini and Claudio Abbado in productions in Berlin, Salzburg, Vienna, Paris and Lucerne. |
