Born: Stuttgart, Germany
The German tenor Andreas Wagner was for ten years a member of the Stuttgart Hymnus Choristers. Prizes at ‘Young Musicians’ competitions as an organist led him to study of church music at Stuttgart Musikhochschule. His love of singing finally triumphed, and he completed a course of singing studies with Professor Luisa Bosabalian and Sandor Konya.
There after he sang all over Europe under conductors like Peter Schreier, Hanns-Martin Schneidt, Michel Corboz, Wolfgang Gönnenwein, Peter Gülke, Enoch zu Guttenberg and Joshard Daus. Appearances at major festivals at home and abroad, like the Wiesbaden May Festival and the Athens Festival, as well as the Franz Völker Prize for tenors are further evidence of his qualities as a singer. Engagements have taken Andreas Wagner to the Stadttheater Würzburg, to Wuppertal and the Darmstadt Staatstheater.
