Frank Volke (Harpsichord, Piano, Organ)

Born: 1964 - Düseldorf, Germany

The German harpsichordist and organist, Frank Volke, studied after after graduation church music at the Folkwanghochschule in Essen. After the exam, and the Kantor concert organ exams he studied piano at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Hamburg, piano, and passed there the music diploma examination, and the artistic graduation exam in piano. This was followed by training with Mario Ratko Delorko and master-classes with Nelson Dellevigne and Carla Giudici.

Frank Volke won the Folkwang Prize and he was also winner of several international organ competitions (including 1989 at the International Competition Prague Spring). He is currently a lecturer at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen for general bass/organ score playing and organ literature/organ improvisation.
