Caroline Trevor (Contralto)

Born: England

The English contralto, Caroline Trevor, has performed and recorded with many early music groups, including the Taverner Consort, the Sixteen, Musica Secreta, and the Cardinall’s Musick. Caroline Trevor has been singing with the The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips) since March 1982.

She has a number of solo recordings to her name, which include J.S. Bach's St. John Passion (BWV 245), Magnificat (BWV 243), and Easter Oratorio (BWV 249), Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria, George Frideric Handel’s Israel in Egypt, and Dowland songs. She also enjoys singing contemporary music - most recently, a first performance and radio recording of Stale Kleiberg’s Requiem in Trondheim Cathedral.
