Sankt-Joseph-Kapella (Early Music Ensemble)

Founded: 2001 - Moscow, Russia

The early music ensemble Sankt-Joseph-Kapelle has been performing concerts since 2001. The organizer and artistic director of the chapel is Ivan Lebedev (organ, harpsichord, basso continuo). The basis of the Sankt-Joseph-Kapelle repertoire is composed of works by composers of the 17th-18th centuries: cantatas by J.S. Bach, Alessandro Scarlatti, Dietrich Buxtehude, Antonio Vivaldi, H. Purcell, sacred works by Heinrich Schütz, François Couperin and many others. Over the years of creative searches, the ensemble has created its own style of performance, consonant with the aesthetic principles of the Baroque era.

Many famous soloists have performed with the ensemble, and first of all, the owners of truly "Baroque" voices - counter-tenors Nikolai Gladskikh, Evgeny Zhuravkin, Yaroslav Zdorov and others; soprano Alisa Gitsba, basses Kirill Filin and Edem Ibraimov; outstanding instrumental soloists Philip Nodel (oboe), Olga Ivusheikova (recorder), Mikhail Basov (trumpet), Ivan Subbotkin (violin), Mikhail Shumov (cello), Fedor Stroganov (organ, harpsichord).
