The noted German contralto, Sigrid (Elisabeth EIfriede Emilie) Onégin (née Hoffmann), was born in Stockholm to a German father and a French mother. She studied in Frankfurt am Main with Resz, in Munich with E.R. Weiss, and with di Ranieri in Milan. |
