The American tenor, Nickolas (Nick) Karageorgiou, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Indiana University Bloomington (2010-2014). In sunner 2015, he attended the Weimarer Bachkantaten Akademie - HfM Franz Liszt, where he sang as member of a 40-voice choir, performing J.S. Bach's BWV 4, BWV 70, BWV 71, BWV 106, BWV 131, and BWV 147 in various cities throughout Thueringen (Mühlhausen, Arnstadt, Weimar, Eisenach, and Leipzig).
Nickolas Karageorgiou has both established himself as a formidable chamber musician and soloist. Recently located to New York for work with Saint Thomas Choir of Men & Boys at St. Thomas Church on Fifth Ave (since January 2018), he has kept himself busy singing five services a week, spanning a wide range of sacred rep. Additionally, he has been heard in many projects under Julian Wachner and the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, most recently a collaboration with LA Opera and Beth Morrison Projects, premiering Ellen Reid’s opera, p r i s m. Other recent engagements of his include concerts with Cantus, Spire Chamber Ensemble, True Concord, The Thirteeen, The Crossing, and The Rose Ensemble.
As a soloist, Nickolas Karageorgiou has been heard tackling Baroque gems under Matthew Glandorf and Choral Arts Philadelphia, some of which include Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, J.S. Bach’s complete Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248), in addition to a handful of secular and sacred J.S. Bach's cantatas. This March, he will be joining as a soloist for Bucknell College’s annual Bach Festival under Beth Willer. |
