Eileen Hulse (Soprano)

Born: England

The English soprano, Eileen Hulse, has established herself as one of Britain's leading sopranos. She has sung in opera and the conventional concert repertoire, but she is particularly noted for her interpretations of the 20th century repertoire. In this field she has a special relationship with the London Sinfonietta.

She has recorded for a number of labels. Her recordings include the Gliere Concerto for Coloratura Soprano, (Chandos, City of London Sinfonia), Taverner's Protecting Veil (Naxos, Ulster Orchestra) and Arnold Schoenberg (Koch International, London Symphony orchestra). Reviewing her recording of the Gliere Concerto for Coloratura Soprano, Penguin Guide wrote, "an impressive soloist with excellent control, well-focused tone and a good sense of line".
