Markus Huber (Boy Soprano, Conductor)

Born: Munich, Germany

The German conductor and former boy soprano, Markus Huber, first learned music and piano at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich. He further studied conducting at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna. He was soloist of the Tölzer Knabenchor from 1975 to 1982, working with conductors as Herbert von Karajan, James Levine, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Seiji Ozawa. He sings a beautiful duet with Kurt Equiluz in Bach's Cantata BWV 112 (der Herr ist mein getreuer Hirt) conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt.

In 2003 Markus Huber was appointed as Director of the Westsächsischer Symphonieorchester.
