The German bass, Christof [Christoph] Hartkopf, started his career as a singer in the Regensburger Domspatzen. After graduation, he gained the scholarship of the Richard Wagner Foundation, received singing lessons with Ilse Hagen in Munich and then studied at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin in the singing class of Anke Eggers and the Lied class of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
