Born: Wuppertal, Germany
The German bass, Klaus Häger, studied school music and singing with Professors Franz Müller-Heuser, Ingeborg Most and Jürgen Glauß in Köln and Freiburg. He also participated in master-classes with Ernst Haefliger and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, and won numerous competitions.
Klaus Häger has sung in Lieder recitals, orchestral concerts and oratorio productions in his homeland and abroad and participated in recordings for nearly all the German broadcasting corporations, CD and television productions. He has appeared at important music festivals, such as Salzburg Festival, Schwetzingen Opera Festival, Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, and Ludwigsburg Festival. Since 1991 he was a member of the Hamburg State Opera, and since the season 1997-1998 he is engaged by Deutschen Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin.
