Linda Finnie (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: 1954 - Scotland, UK

The Scottish mezzo-soprano, Linda Finnie, was educated at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. In 1974 she won 1st Prize of the International Ferrier Competition and in 1977 the Prize of International Ferrier Competition (Hertogenbosch).

Linda Finnie's repertoire includes enormous number of works. She has appeared at important concert halls, such as English National Opera, Covent Garden, Grand Opera, Geneva Opera, Frankfurt Opera, Opera of Flandria, Opera of Beyrut. She has sung with many orchestras, such as Symphonic Orchestra ORF, Berliner Symphoniker, Symphonic Orchestra of Munich, Symphonic Orchestra of Strasbourg, Symphonic Orchestra of Chehia, Symphonic Orchestra of Japan, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and with renowned conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, A. Previn, Daniel Barenboim, Y. Temirkanov, Mariss Jansons. Her international concert tours have taken her to Australia, USA, Far East and Europe.

Linda Finnie partipcipated in enormous number of CD productions, most of them for Chandos label.
