Hans Georg Ahrens (Bass)

Born: 1948 - Hitzacker, Germany

The German bass, Hans George Ahrens, studied to the Berliner Hochschule für Musik and performing art with Professor G. Wilhelms. He participated several times in the master-classes of Gerald Moore.

Hans George Ahrens' first engagement led him to Städtischen Bühnen Mainz. After Augsburg and Kassel he became in 1978 a respectable bass singer at the Kiel Opera House. He has given regularly concerts in his homeland and abroad with renowned conductors, such as Riccardo Muti, Helmut Rilling and Wolfgang Göennenwein and appeared on all the important German stages.

Hans George Ahrens participated in numerous recordings and broadcasts were accomplished.

Since 1994 Hans George Ahrens is a university lecturer on the subject singing - first at the University in Kiel; then, starting from 2002 at the University in Flensburg. He can be heard singing great bass roles at the Theatre in Kiel.
