Epistle: 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11 Spiritual gifts are diverse

1. Von den geistlichen Gaben aber will ich euch, liebe Brüder, nicht verhalten.

[1] Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2. Ihr wisset, daß ihr Heiden seid gewesen und hingegangen zu den stummen Götzen, wie ihr geführt wurdet.

[2] Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3. Darum tue ich euch kund, daß niemand JEsum verfluchet, der durch den Geist GOttes redet; und niemand kann Jesum einen HErrn heißen ohne durch den Heiligen Geist.

[3] Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4. Es sind mancherlei Gaben, aber es ist ein Geist.

[4] Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5. Und es sind mancherlei Ämter, aber es ist ein HErr.

[5] And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6. Und es sind mancherlei Kräfte, aber es ist ein GOtt, der da wirket alles in allen.

[6] And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7. In einem jeglichen erzeigen sich die Gaben des Geistes zum gemeinen
Nutzen.

[7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8. Einem wird gegeben durch den Geist, zu reden von der Weisheit; dem andern wird gegeben, zu reden von der Erkenntnis nach demselbigen Geist;

[8] For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9. einem andern der Glaube in demselbigen Geist; einem andern die Gabe, gesund zu machen, in demselbigen Geist;

[9] To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10. einem andern, Wunder zu tun; einem andern Weissagung; einem andern, Geister zu unterscheiden; einem andern mancherlei Sprachen; einem andern, die Sprachen auszulegen.

[10] To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11. Dies aber alles wirket derselbige einige Geist und teilet einem jeglichen seines zu, nachdem er will.

[11] But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will

Gospel: Luke 19: 41-48 Jesus weeps over Jerusalem

41. Und als er nahe hinzukam, sah er die Stadt an und weinete über sie

[41] And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

42. und sprach: Wenn du es wüßtest, so würdest du auch bedenken zu dieser deiner Zeit, was zu deinem Frieden dienet. Aber nun ist's vor deinen Augen verborgen.

[42] Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

43. Denn es wird die Zeit über dich kommen, daß deine Feinde werden um dich und deine Kinder mit dir eine Wagenburg schlagen, dich belagern und an allen Orten ängsten

[43] For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

44. und werden dich schleifen und keinen Stein auf dem andern lassen, darum daß du nicht erkannt hast die Zeit, darinnen du heimgesucht bist.

[44] And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

45. Und er ging in den Tempel und fing an auszutreiben, die darinnen verkauften und kauften,

[45] And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;

46. und sprach zu ihnen: Es stehet geschrieben: Mein Haus ist ein Bethaus; ihr aber habt's gemacht zur Mördergrube.

[46] Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

47. Und lehrte täglich im Tempel. Aber die Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten und die Vornehmsten im Volk trachteten ihm nach, daß sie ihn umbrächten,

[47] And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

48. und fanden nicht, wie sie ihm tun sollten; denn alles Volk hing ihm an und hörete ihn.

[48] And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
