James Taylor (tenor)
Jill Gunsell wrote (April 1, 2004):
He was on the Jacobs Bach cantatas recordings in the mid 90s e,g, the Phoebus and Pan/Hercules cantatas. I have heard nothing of him on recordings or in performance since then. Does anyone know what became of him?
Gabriel Jackson wrote (April 1, 2004):
[To Jill Gunsell] Does he not sing on some of the more recent Rilling recordings?
Matthew Neugebauer wrote (April 1, 2004):
[To Jill Gunsell] I believe he was involved in Rilling's 2000 cycle-I have the CD of Christmas and Advent chorales and songs, with him as the tenor soloist. He was also in Herreweghe's recording of Mendelssohn's Paulus.
Aryeh Oron wrote (April 1, 2004):

James Taylor participated in Rilling's recent 'The Lecture Concerts - New Cantata Recording".

William D. Kasimer wrote (April 1, 2004):
[To Jill Gunsell] He's still singing, and quite well; he's the excellent tenor soloist on the recently issued Naxos recording of Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, recorded last year in Nashville.
Jill Gunsell wrote (April 1, 2004):
Many thanks to all who responded to my question, and to Aryeh for the biog on the website. I should have done another web search before asking! Last time I looked, admittedly a while ago, I could find nothing. I am very glad he is still singing and will look out these reordings. Thanks again.
