The Largest Bach Website in the World, Coming to You From Israel
How a man’s hobby wound up attracting tens of thousands of readers a day, including some important musicians..

[To Aryeh Oron] A great contribution.

Thank you, Aryeh!

[To Aryeh Oron] Great to see this background article on you and your impressive work. Thank you for all you are doing. We visited Israel two years ago. I had no idea you were based there.

avoda metsuyenet ! I was touched by many aspects of this article about you, mainly about your passion for comprehensivity which apparently comes from your father... you are a true man from the Renaissance tradition, because the humanistic ideal of these men was precisely comprehensivity. The, what i would call, "encyclopedic temptation" is a concept i love too.
I knew the BCW was a benchmark, but I did not think you were still webmastering this huge webiste alone !
Then you spoke about great Wendy Carlos and a version of the Goldberg i admire a lot too: the one of Charles Rosen. This is maybe the most dancing version i've ever heard : when listening to it, my feet are literally moving on the floor. I could never imagine that there were more then 1200 versions of this masterpiece... one BACH and so many musicians, indeed. Because BACH is the beginning and the end of music - until now, of course, other geniuses will maybe come...Yet, as so many recorded versions of the Kantor's music are now avaibable, interpreters should look at other composers too... 1200 versions of the BWV988 is too much, indeed, and if i had kown that, i would never had recorded the Goldberg !
Anyway, what is done is done :):):)
My wife Tatiana put a link about this Haaretz article on the wikipage she's building. She was very impressed by your work.

I wish you a sunny and joyful week,
