Adolf Gebauer (Composer)

Born: Bachorzyn, Poland

The German-Czech composer, Adolf Gebauer, the son of a Czech mother and a German father, studied violin and composition in Prague. He settled in 1980 in the Federal Republic of Germany and now lives in Wuppertal.

Adolf Gebauer was the violinist in the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in and most recently in Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal. He has written chamber and orchestral music, Lieder cycles, flute, harp and organ works. His works have been recorded by various artists.
