Curt Doebler (Composer)

Born: January 15, 1896 - Kottbus, Germany
Died: June 19, 1970 - Berlin, Germany

The German organist, teacher and composer, Curt Doebler, studied organ with A. Dreyer.

From 1919 to 1932 Curt Doebler was organist and choir-master at the Catholic church in Charlottenburg. After occupying various positions as an organist and a teacher elsewhere, he returned to Charlottenburg in 1950.

In his music Curt Doebler attempted to establish a modern style based on Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina's polyphony. His numerous choruses enjoyed success in Germany in their day.
