Heinrich Bach [6] (Musician)

Born: September 16, 1615 - Wechmar, Thuringia, Germany
Died: July 10, 1692 - Arnstadt, Thuringia, Germany

Heinrich Bach [6] was son of Johann Bach [2]. He was town musician in Schweinfurt from 1629 and in Erfurt from 1635, and in 1641 became town musician and organist of the Liebfrauenkirche in Arnstadt.

Heinrich Bach's funeral sermon (MMg, vii, 1875, p.178) calls him an experienced composer of chorales, motets, concertos, preludes and fugues. A vocal concerto Ich danke dir, Gott (1681) for five voices, strings and continuo (EDM, 1st series, ii, 1935, p.3); a lamento, Ach, dass ich Wassers genug hätte, for voice, strings and continuo (SBA) and three organ chorales (Orgelwerke der Familie Bach, 1967, p.l) are extant.
