Westerkerkkoor (Choir)

Founded: 1952 - Amsterdam, the Netherlands

The Westerkerkkoor (Westerkerk Choir), conducted by JanJoost van Elburg, participates eight to nine times a year in Westerkerk Cantatediensten (Bach Cantata Services). This is an atmospheric church service in which the choir, instrumental ensemble 't Kabinet and soloists perform J.S. Bach cantata or other piece of music. The formula of these services is an interplay of reflection, music and a short meditation that is in line with the subject of the cantata.

The cantata services are church services, so freely accessible. A collection is taken at the exit to pay for the high costs associated with these cantata services.
