Vox Orchester (Baroque Orchestra)

Born: Karben, Hesse, Germany.

Vox Orchestra represents the first generation of young professionals entering the musical scene and who, from the outset, have dedicated themselves to Ancient Music and its original period instruments. They grew up with a wealth of acquired knowledge about historically informed performance which has become the home of these young professionals, without any pressure to prove their legitimacy, free of any struggle or search for the right - authentic - interpretation and playing practice: free to play and experiment.

For several years Conductor Lorenzo Ghirlanda has been increasing emphasis on bringing together - like for the Barockorchester Bachs Erben - these young musicians and stars of the Early music scene like Christoph Prégardien, Dorothee Oberlinger, Luca Pianca and Dmitry Sinkovsky. By founding Vox Orchester, together with young oboist and recorder player Jan Nigges, Lorenzo Ghirlanda is giving this shared experience a strong profile for the future.
