Voix pour la Paix (Voice for Peace) creation of a lyric artist initiative in support of UNICEF's action in Ukraine. Supported by the Fondation Leenaards, agent Illyria Pfyffer as well as the donors of its crowdfunding, the Voix pour la Paix initiative was launched in February 2022 following the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
UNICEF has been present in Ukraine for 25 years, supporting populations on both sides of the front line. The escalation of the conflict in Ukraine since February 24, 2022 impacts 7.5 million children, requiring a considerable intensification of humanitarian efforts. The assistance provided concerns medical assistance, but also psychosocial assistance, the protection of children, their access to school learning, and the list goes on.
Artists have their role to play: At all times and whatever its form, art has a look at the world and the society in which it is deployed. He reflects it, critiques it, transforms it. It resists oppression, it can soothe, raise awareness, but also galvanize, be diverted or instrumentalized. Beyond the aesthetics and the emotion it arouses, art is political, unifying and emancipatory. In this sense, being an artist or an actor in culture today implies that art is committed to peace and to life.
