Elisabeth Umierski (Contralto)

Born: Germany

The German contralto, Elizabeth Umierski, studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Hamburg. Her most important teachers are Gisela Litz, Ingrid Czerny and Nicholas McGegan.

Concert tours with oratorio performances and Lieder recitals have led Elizabeth Umierski to many European countries, to Japan and to the USA. Her guest engagements in recent years were at the Theater Bremen, the Theater des Westens Berlin and at the Städtischen Bühnen Osnabrück.

CD and radio recordings document a repertoire, which spreads from the Baroque to the Beatles. In addition Elizabeth Umierski is an engaged and creative teacher: member in the Deutscher Gesangspädagogen, authority of a note-read school for beginners, has singing class in the model test popular music at the Musikschule Hamburg, voice teacher with important choirs in Hamburg and Berlin, has her own singing studio “Singing Feels Good” in Berlin.
