Armin Ude (Tenor)

Born: January 16, 1933 - Weißenfels a. d. Saale, Germany

The German tenor, Armin Ude, studied first flute at Music School in Leipzig. When he discovered his unusual tenor voice, he decided to study singing.

Armin Ude's first stage engagement was in Magdeburg and Cottbus in 1968. Then he already joined the Saxonian State Opera (Semperoper Dresden), to whose roster of soloists he still belongs also today. His repertoire includes about 70 opera roles and 50 concertant parts, furthermore a big number of Lieder and song cycles. As a Kammersänger Ude has made guest appearances in most of the European countries and in Japan.

As a soloist Armin Ude concentrated on appearances with the Thomanerchor (Leipzig) and the Kreuzchor (Dresden), with prominent German and foreign orchestras, sang in radio and television productions. He enjoys also a high reputation as a singing teacher.
